What is an elopement?

Generally it is a more personal and private wedding. Often it is a simpler wedding ceremony, but it can still be very personal and individualised to suit the two of you. It can be just the two of you (we can even be the witnesses if you would like) or you could be accompanied by up to 4 friends or family, 2 of whom can be your witnesses. If you are looking at something a little larger (eg up to 20 guests) we can offer you some packages that may be perfect for that too. What is a Micro-wedding?

It is generally a smaller and simpler wedding with around 20 - 30 guests. This fairly recent trend has been amplified in this age of Co-vid, but even when things settle into a new normal, many couples will still choose a micro-wedding as they love the idea of less organising and a more intimate and personal celebration. Many of our elopement packages can be adapted to micro-weddings, just let us know what you have in mind.

Elopement locations and venues

We are happy to come to wherever you would like us, but mostly we work in the Tweed Valley, Byron Shire and Gold Coast. Below are some of the venues where we've photographed many beautiful elopements.

We love photographing at Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat for their range of high-end lodges with breathtaking views and stunning wedding spots by the beautiful creek. This venue is truly tucked away high in a valley under the most stunning mountains and surrounded by pristine rainforest. You will need to book your accomodation package with them and your elopement package separately with us.

We highly recommend: Wollumbin Palms Rainforest Retreat for their range of unique lodges and warm and personal approach. Their packages include us as your photographers, a wonderful experienced celebrant, flowers and hair and makeup as well as luxury accomodation and other inclusions. Many of the photos in the gallery below were taken there. The Gazebo is very popular for ceremonies and the creek is a favourite spot for relaxing and being photographed afterwards. We are now offering elopement packages at Mavis's Kitchen! This is a stunning and very popular venue near Mt. Warning, that is available for elopements on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our package includes use of their gardens or hill-top for the ceremony, a 3 course lunch for two and a bottle of organic bubbly, your photography and your celebrant!

Accommodation options are also available, just ask us for more information, but you can only book this package through us.

Elopement Videography

We offer two different approaches to videoing your elopement.

If we are photographing your elopement we can also video the ceremony using 1 or 2 static cameras and record high quality audio. Then edit these together in a simple production. Prices start from $600.
If you have someone else as your photographer and would like us to be your videographers, we offer packages starting from $950. These are for elopements and micro-weddings. See below for an example of our recent work.
